Anyone who is eligible to vote in the September 15 Primary Election or November 3 General Election is eligible to vote by mail in Delaware this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Voters still also have the option to vote in person.
To register to vote, please visit ivote.de.gov and select “Not yet registered”. You can also check your registration or ballot status. You must register to vote by October 10 for the General Election.
If you want to vote by mail, you will need to:
- Submit application to request a “vote by mail” ballot (by mail or online)
- Return your completed “vote by mail” ballot (by mail)
Under HB 346, all eligible voters will receive an application in the mail to request a “vote by mail” ballot for the elections. You can either fill out the form and mail it back (postage is already included), or you fill out a ballot request online at ivote.de.gov. You will then receive a “vote by mail” ballot that you must return by Election Day.
If you would like to vote in person on Election Day, you can find your polling location at ivote.de.gov. Polling locations will be available in each election district.
For the Primary Election:
- Complete and return the enclosed “vote by mail” ballot application, or complete it online, by September 11. Please make sure all your information is accurate to avoid delays with your ballot.
- The Department of Elections will then mail you ballot, which you must return by mail. The Department of Elections must receive your ballot by September 15.
For the General Election:
- Complete and return the enclosed “vote by mail” ballot application, or complete it online, by October 30. Please make sure all your information is accurate to avoid delays with your ballot.
- The Department of Elections will then mail you ballot, which you must return by mail. The Department of Elections must receive your ballot by November 3.
