On May 3, 2017, Progressive Democrats for Delaware will host a Forum
on Delaware’s Budget Proposals
Panelists include: Governor Carney’s Cabinet Secretary of Finance, Rick Geisenberger; State Representative J. J. Johnson; and State Representative John Kowalko.
Panelists will discuss the current state of the budget, budget issues, and proposals to resolve those issues, both for the immediate budget and long term solutions.
The Forum will begin at 7:30 PM at New Castle County Party Headquarters, 19 East Commons Blvd., New Castle, DE 19072.

Bios
Rep. JJ Johnson, 16th District
Rep. Johnson is a member of the Joint Finance committee and has had the responsibility of presenting a fair and balanced budget to the legislature. He has been endorsed by PDD in the past and has championed environmental and criminal justice reforms.
Rick Geisenberger, Secretary of Finance for Governor Carney
The Cabinet Secretary of Finance is the state’s Chief Financial Officer and is the central source for economic and fiscal policy and management of financial resources. The Office of the Secretary provides economic data, revenue and legislative analyses and public information services. Secretary Geisenberger previously served as Delaware’s Chief Deputy Secretary of State and the Director of the Division of Corporations.
Rep. John Kowalko, 25th District
One of the founding members of PDD, Rep. Kowalko has received both PDD’s Courage Award and its Bob Stachnik Hero Award. John regularly proposes alternatives to the governors’ budgets, addressing the needs of working middle class families and the need to control corporate giveaways at the expense of the average taxpayer. Over the last ten years, John has proposed progressive tax restructuring.
